A Dialogue between Two Friends on Covid-19

Ahmad: "Asslam-o-Alaikum! How are you?"

Ali: "Walikum-us-Salam! I am fine. What about you?"

Ahmad: "I am also fit. What are you doing these days?"

Ali: "I am free these days because everything is closed due to Corona Virus."

Ahmad: "How do you find this whole Corona situation?"

Ali: "It is pandemic and it covers the whole world within days. So it is very disturbing."

Ahmad: "Can you please explain! what is this pandemic?"

Ali: "Coronaviruses are a collection of viruses that can cause respiratory illness in humans. They get their name, "corona," from the many crown-like spikes on the surface of the virus. It was first reported in Wuhan city of China."

Ahmad: " I have also heard that it came from China. How many countries and people are affected by it?"

Ali: "The Virus has spread all the continents and it has infected millions of people. It has taken the lives of thousands of people."

Ahmad: "How does it spread in the whole world in this short period?"

Ali: "The virus enters in respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, sings, or breathes near you (within six feet). This is thought to be the main way COVID-19 is spread. It can also infect you when you have close contact (touching, shaking hands) with an infected person."

Ahmad: "It is very easy to catch this virus. What are its effects on Humans?"

Ali: "The virus travels to the mucous membrane in the back of your throat. It attaches to cells there, begins to multiply, and enters into lung tissues. From there, the virus can spread to other body tissues."

Ahmad: "It will be very difficult to take care of it. Can you tell me how can we find a person having Covid-19? What are its symptoms?"

Ali: "There is a long list of its symptoms; fever, flu, cough, sore throat, tiredness, headaches, muscle or body aches, and many more. It can pass out to the next person even the first person is still not getting any symptoms."

Ahmad: "How long a person remained ill after getting Covid-19?"

Ali: " Virus can show its symptoms within two to fourteen days. It is a disease of two weeks and after two weeks the patient will start recovery."

Ahmad: "How is Covid-19 diagnosed?"

Ali: "It is diagnosed with a laboratory test. Your healthcare provider may collect a sample of your saliva or swab your nose or throat to send for testing in the laboratory."

Ahmad: "Who is most at risk for getting this virus?"

Ali: "People having weak immune systems are the ones that are at most risk. People having age over 60 are the people that are the most affected ones. People who have close contact with an infected person or area are also at a greater risk. The death rate of older persons is higher than the younger ones."

Ahmad: "It will surely influence every field of life. Can you explain what are its other consequences?

Ali: "It has influenced the economies of different countries. It has its effects on human minds and thoughts. It has created an alarming situation for different people and their daily life is disturbed. It has brought food scarcity to different parts of the world.

Ahmad: "What measures should I take to remain safe in this whole situation?"

Ali: "You should cover your whole body. Cover your mouth and nose with a face mask. Avoid close contact with other people. Use hand sanitizer to wash your hand for at least 20 seconds. Avoid handshaking. Maintain six feet distance from other people."

Ahmad: "How this disease can be cured? Is there any specific medicine?"

Ali: "Initially there was no solution but now after a lot of researches and experiments some countries have developed Vaccines which is recently been giving good results. Surely it will be cured fully in the future."

Ahmad: "I am very thankful to you as you have told me many good things about this whole situation."

Ali: "No need for these complements because I have also enjoyed discussing this with you on this matter. We have surely passed some quality time talking about it. God bless you."
